Jerry’s Story

McCracken County, KY

Jerry, borrower story highlight

Jerry says her hearing has declined as she has gotten older. If it had not been for this loan, she would not have been able to afford hearing aids, which have given her more independence.

“There was a point before I got the hearing aids where I stopped asking people to repeat themselves because I was frustrated that I couldn’t hear them clearly while in a conversation,” Jerry said.

During church services, she would have a hard time hearing her preacher, and difficulty listening while watching TV at home. When Jerry paid a visit to The Audiology & Hearing Center in Paducah, KY, they referred her to AATLF. She was approved for a loan and had her hearing aids in a matter of weeks. Jerry’s hearing has improved tremendously since receiving hearing aids.

“Life has been a lot better because of the hearing aids – a benefit I didn’t have before. I feel comfortable during conversations because I can hear people more clearly.”

Jerry adds that she would recommend AATLF to anyone in need of funding for hearing aids or any type of assistive technology.
